Lou Dobbs began his show last night (November 11) with the announcement that he’s leaving CNN!

After 30 years of being a managing editor and news anchor for CNN, Lou Dobbs of ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight’ says he is leaving the network immediately but hasn’t said where he will be going.

Dobbs says, “For the past six months it has become increasingly clear that strong winds of change have begun buffeting this country and affecting all of us!”

Lou Dobbs also anchors a nationally syndicated financial news radio report!

Meanwhile CNN’s John King is to replace Dobbs as the networks 7pm anchor early next year.

In a statement released early this morning CNN president Johnathan Klein said, “The program will reflect what CNN is all about: straight facts from our anchors and the widest range of opinions from across the political spectrum.”

John King has been with CNN since 1997 and has been its chief national correspondent since 2005.
